Looking beyond appearances to God

[Patricia McNeill, “The power of one God and one’s prayers,” cssentinel.com, April 29, 2021]

I’ve had many experiences like the ones in this article. I’ve seen drinking parties break up in minutes, physical altercations stop, and peace replace disturbance in numerous other situations. In the face of such troubling appearances, I’ve earnestly prayed to not be troubled myself, to bless all parties with the peace and love of God, and to invoke the power of God in some way. As we look beyond outward appearances to the reality that God, the only true power, is governing, peace takes the place of strife.

Relevant and timely article

[Mimi Oka, “Confronting racism with God’s thoughts,” Sentinel, April 26, 2021]

I just read this article and loved it. I came across it when I was browsing christianscience.com, and it was clear that it had been written recently, as it referenced current events. I think it’s great that this relevant and timely article was accessible on both a public website and JSH-Online.com, making it that much easier for a broader audience to find and read. This is the first time I’ve noticed this connection. I hope this continues. Thank you!
