[Patricia McNeill, “The power of one God and one’s prayers,” cssentinel.com, April 29, 2021]
I’ve had many experiences like the ones in this article. I’ve seen drinking parties break up in minutes, physical altercations stop, and peace replace disturbance in numerous other situations. In the face of such troubling appearances, I’ve earnestly prayed to not be troubled myself, to bless all parties with the peace and love of God, and to invoke the power of God in some way. As we look beyond outward appearances to the reality that God, the only true power, is governing, peace takes the place of strife.
