As God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

—II Corinthians 4:15, New Living Translation

[Thanksgiving] is a great time for get-togethers with family and friends. And there’s always that question, “What should I bring?”

I find it helpful to begin to answer that question in spiritual terms. First, who’s hosting that event? Well, God—divine Life and Love, our Father-Mother. God is always the true host. And what does our divine Host bring to the table? Infinite good. Forever identity, the very meat of being. And it’s also going to include soulful joy—and you know, that’s not a condiment; it’s a main staple. And unlimited intelligence, complete provision, a gentle but powerful guiding hand that governs the get-together so everyone feels enjoyment and is blessed.

And what do we bring to the table? We bring what we’ve been created to express: spiritual honesty; obedience to Truth; humility to honor God; childlikeness that can trust the ever-presence of Love’s embrace; and gratitude for the invitation to dine in the presence of all God’s children.

Whether or not you’ve been invited to a meal, God is always inviting you to feast with Love. Make sure you bring your best!
