I was healed of a headache
One morning, when I woke up, my head hurt a lot. I went to sleep on our couch in the living room, but I did not feel any better. I then went on the veranda and tried to sleep some more there, but I kept having a difficult time. So when my papa (dad) came to see what was going on, I told him I wasn’t feeling well. Papa reminded me that I could pray to be healed. In our family we are used to relying on prayer for healing.
I started praying. I was thinking, as we learned in the Christian Science Sunday School, that God did not create disease. If God did not create disease, then my head could not really hurt. Then I prayed with the first Beatitude that we also studied in Sunday School. It says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3). My head could not hurt me because I always live in the kingdom of God and because God has created me pure and perfect as He is.
I felt happy to have understood that. I went back to the living room. There was a good cartoon on television, and I started to watch it. Then I forgot about my head. By the time the cartoon was over, I found that my head no longer hurt at all. And I’ve never had any headache since. I am grateful for this healing.
