Thank you for the beautiful March 26 Sentinel, “Prayer for God’s Creatures.” The stories were especially inspirational.
As an animal lover, I contribute to and sign petitions for as many causes as possible. But as the Sentinel reminds us, the most important aspect of our support for the animals is prayer. Every experience shared demonstrates that the power of prayer reaches to all creation. The dear creatures do respond to God’s love and feel God’s healing presence.
My husband and I have a three-legged cat (who was a stray) named “Hoppy.” Every night before bed, I hug him and tell him that my husband loves him, I love him, and what’s most important of all, God loves him. With each sentence, he gives a low part-purr, part-meow answer. At first I found this amazing but soon saw that he intuitively realizes the depth of that message. He knows the blessing he’s being given.
Enjoy 1 free Sentinel article or audio program each month, including content from 1898 to today.
