I love the War and Peace cartoon in the March 5 Sentinel. It is clever and funny! I still smile every time  I look at it.

I just finished reading the article for teens by Gyles Booker [“Siblings listen for God’s voice”] in the February 13 Sentinel, “Life—my cup is running over.” He mentioned about praying for a solution to a school project. At the end he says, “If I hadn’t, we wouldn’t have made the deadline, and it would have definitely affected my grade in that class.” I chuckled about the “affected my grade” statement. This is such a typical thought that students have. And then I started to think about how we all face “grades” in some form—praise, being loved, performance evaluation, a raise or bonus, etc. These types of grades can also seem to hang over our heads, causing fear or anxiety about earning them. How often, or how fast, do we “take a break,” as Gyles did, and listen for guidance and direction?
