How divine Mind removed the ants
A few years ago, I lived in a two-story duplex and was downstairs preparing selections for a Wednesday testimony meeting at a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. When I went upstairs to the bathroom, I discovered that the tub and shower walls were covered by hundreds of ants.
There had been several days of unusually heavy rain. My backyard was flat, and a pool of water had built up that was two or three inches deep. I realized that the ants had been flooded out of their home and were seeking refuge in mine.
My first inclination was to wash them down the drain. But a feeling of compassion pushed that idea out of my thought. I actually felt love for them. I knew that they didn’t want to be there, but were forced to go there. I also respected their intelligence and industry.
