I wasn't scared anymore

I first want to give you some background. I have always been scared of people jumping out at me and also of scary movies. I never liked the idea of those two things. So this is what my healing is about.

One Saturday I went to my friend’s house to celebrate her birthday. We had a lot of fun at first, and then the rest of my friends wanted to watch a scary movie. So I went with it, thinking I wouldn’t get scared. But, once the movie was over, I was petrified with fear. The next day I went to Sunday School, and I told my Sunday School teacher that I watched this movie and I was still feeling scared. She talked to me about how I could pray about this. And she gave me a great passage from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy to think about. The passage is on page 393. It says: “Rise in the strength of Spirit to resist all that is unlike good. God has made man capable of this, and nothing can vitiate the ability and power divinely bestowed on man.” What this passage means to me is that we are all perfect and God gives us the strength to overcome fear. God knows no evil or anything that is not perfect, and for a child of God, there is no fear.

The following week, I read this passage every morning and every night. Once it was Friday, I wasn’t scared anymore. What made me feel free of this fear is understanding that there is nothing unlike good. NO fear exists. There was also a feeling of God loving me and supporting me in everything I did.
