My ankle was healed
One day, during my dance convention, while I was dancing, the back of my ankle started to hurt like crazy. I went to sit down hoping it would just go away, but it didn’t. When I came home, I was limping. I started to pray, but error was taking my mind off of God.
My mom, who is not a Christian Scientist, had me wear a brace around my ankle. But it still hurt. The pain in my ankle kept me from dancing, which got me really upset. My dad and my stepmom encouraged me to keep praying. And in Sunday School I was learning that error cannot take control because God is Love and Love is all.
I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me pray. The practitioner said to read “the scientific statement of being” from Science and Health. The part that meant the most to me was the line, “Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 468). It reminded me that Spirit is God and that matter, or error, cannot make me think that God’s child can be hurt.
