Cut finger quickly healed
Last summer, I was able to gather all three of our grown children, plus our son-in-law, for a week at a cottage on Lake Michigan. On one of the last days, one of my daughters and I rented a two-person kayak and took it out on the lake.
We were having a great time, but while paddling, I cut my finger on the edge of a placard on the side of the kayak. The finger began to bleed, and I stuck it in the cool water to wash it off. It stopped bleeding quickly and I forgot all about it.
That night, as I got in bed, I noticed that my finger was swollen and a much darker color than any of my other fingers. Thoughts flashed through my mind as to what was wrong, including the possibility of serious infection as I remembered simply rinsing my finger in the lake and then carrying on with my day. I now wondered if that was a smart thing to do.
