The joy of learning and growing

On Strawberry Hill Road, just a couple of miles from my home, sits a charming two-story gray building. During the week it’s filled with many lively and happy preschoolers. On the building’s outside wall a pretty sign announces: “A place to grow.”

Thinking about this nearby school was a nice reminder to me that learning and growing is not just for youngsters, but for all of us—and is actually, a continuous divine mandate. As Jesus said: “And they shall all be taught by God. Therefore everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me” (John 6:45, New King James Version). God’s lessons are lessons of eternal Life and Love. Since God is infinite, divine Love has boundless learning and growing in store for us. And our own persistence in using this spiritual learning will open the door wider to greater growth, and healings in our lives and daily affairs.

Patient and persistent prayer and spiritual growth helped Sentinel contributor Christopher Jones realize that he no longer needed to hold on to a debilitating condition as a part of his God-created self. In the cover story article, “Committed to progress and healing” he relates how after more than 20 years this inspiration led him to find the joy of healing (see p. 9).
