My world was changed
I am writing this to tell someone who may be homeless and without money, there is a way out. Everything I am and have today is because of the understanding of God and man that has come from the study of Christian Science. I have no doubt that the ideas in Science and Health will change the world of anyone who reads it seeking help.
Many years ago I was visiting the first Church of Christ, Scientist, that I had attended after receiving a copy of Mary Baker Eddy’s book Science and Health a few months earlier. That was in 1968. As I sat in that church, I felt as if I had come home. I recalled the many healings and life transformations that had happened after I began reading the copy of Mrs. Eddy’s
book that a friend had given me.
My marriage of 25 years was coming to an end at the time, and it was a difficult divorce. My husband was threatening to commit suicide—and actually made some attempts at it. Then he began to threaten me and my youngest daughter, who was still at home. She was nine at the time, and we were both students of the Bible. So it was natural for me to turn to Scripture for support. This message helped me so much: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you” (I Pet. 5:7).
