Grief healed, mobility restored

One Wednesday in the summer of 2008, I found it impossible to go to work or to take proper care of myself at home. My left foot had swollen so much that I couldn’t put on a shoe or stand without a pair of canes.

The problem was painful, annoying, and embarrassing.

There I was, a computer trainer working for a rehabilitation center where everyone on staff sought medical help when encountering physical difficulties. But I chose prayer as my means of health care. Although the staff knew I was a Christian Scientist, it was something mysterious to them. I knew that I had to act responsibly and effectively and be seen as doing both.
