You can do it!

Hey , everyone, welcome to this Kids' Sentinel! First off: Big thank you's to the kids who sent us their ideas and prayers, their healings, poems, games, and drawings. This issue couldn't have happened without your help!

This time you'll read a lot about a courageous guy in the Bible called Nehemiah. He was the one who had the huge job of restoring the broken-down walls of his hometown of Jerusalem. Some kids who wrote to us said that what they really liked about Nehemiah was that he "never gave up." Some like that he "never got fooled by the bad guys." And others of you noted how he was able to do that: He listened to God and did only what he knew God wanted him to do. And he used the strength and ability God gave him.

Like Nehemiah, you can stand strong with God. When thoughts like "I can't" or "I'm afraid" want to hold you back, you can listen to what God is telling you, instead. God is right with you, ready to show you the next step to take and always to protect you. God wants you to succeed. Mary Baker Eddy, who discovered Christian Science, said it this way: "The devotion of thought to an honest achievement makes the achievement possible" (Science and Health, p. 199).
