SYMPTOMS OF LYME DISEASE HEALED

In June 2006 I became aware of a red mark on my upper arm. My son recognized it as a deer tick bite and said I should go to the hospital right away to start a series of treatments to prevent Lyme disease. Because I've had healings in Christian Science for over 30 years, I knew I did not have to accept disease and could turn to God for help.

At the time, sadness for a friend who had just lost her husband, as well as other concerns, consumed my thought, and I did not start praying right away. When the mark did not fade in a couple of days, I called a Christian Science practitioner to help me pray. She encouraged me to see that nothing inharmonious could enter my being, because I lived in God's all-good universe (see Science and Health, p. 228, and Gen. 1:31). I held to this comforting thought. But a few days later I noticed stiffness and pain in my neck and shoulder. This soon spread throughout my whole body.

Over the following weeks I spent much time praying and studying Science and Health and other writings by Mary Baker Eddy and listening to Sentinel Radio programs. I researched healings of insect bites on spirituality.com and also found helpful articles in the Christian Science magazines.
