A COUPLE OF SUMMERS AGO, I gratefully found myself remarried, living in my new husband's home, and attending school to complete my writing degree. What vast changes! David and I were having a great time together.

Then for reasons unknown, our euphoria lapsed into arguments, clashes of will, and issues over different ways of doing things. Did it seriously matter where the salad dressing was stored in the refrigerator? Having both been single for many years, we appeared set in our ways.

But we were also both Christian Scientists, had prayed about our companionship, and knew it was an answer to that prayer. We were sure nothing could impede our forward progress.
