OUR DAUGHTER'S TEETH WERE PERFECT

In Science and Health Mary Baker Eddy wrote: "Spirit and its formations are the only realities of being. Matter disappears under the microscope of Spirit" (p. 264). The following healing was a wonderful illustration of that idea for me.

When my daughter was about nine or ten years old, an extra set of canine teeth began growing out of the top sides of her mouth. They were causing her some discomfort and pain. One of the teeth had broken through her gum, and the other was evident just under the gum surface.

As a child, I had experienced a similar occurrence in a different area of my mouth. The extra teeth had been extracted by a dentist. Later, my son had also had an extra pair of teeth taken out of his mouth by a dentist. And so, in this case, I contemplated consulting our dentist about my daughter's teeth. But it came to me quite strongly that the issue could be handled through prayer in Christian Science, which had brought so many healings to my daughter before. She had always been so receptive to prayer, and Christian Science had been our chosen method of healthcare for her since her birth.
