ONE OF THE LESSONS churches have learned is that if you want to help disaster victims, it helps to have a plan.
That was the message during a conference call for pastors of about 1,000 churches nationwide on [January 15]. World Vision, one of the largest Christian relief organizations in the United States, hosted the call and told pastors that the best way to help Haiti is to send money, not people....
Scott Haas, a vice president of World Vision, said many mega-churches already support charitable work in Haiti. They often have close ties to Haitian pastors and churches. So when they heard about the earthquake, they wanted to do something quickly.
