How can you quiet the constant worries and fears that seem to drown out all Christly messages of peace and strength?

To me, it's being aware of God's presence, and turning to psalms like No. 139, which states, "Whither shall I flee from thy presence?" (verse 1). That divine presence is everywhere, and once we know that presence, we aren't overwhelmed by what's ahead of us. We can hear the messages of God's love and care, and that brings us freedom from fear.
