A child's prayer of thanks
Thank you, God, for loving me.
When I get very quiet and listen,
I feel You right here,
taking care of me.
It's really weird,
but also really good.
You're closer than the air,
Nearer than most thoughts I think.
You're with me
When I ride my bike,
When I walk to school.
When I go out on recess,—
Especially some days on recess,
When Mike is there
And the teacher's not looking.
That's when I really need to know
Mike's Your son,
Just like I am.
One of the things I like best is that
Nobody has to tell me You are near.
Your are always telling me
By Your love and simple ideas.
They make me know You
And feel You.
They make me like You.
