PRAYER BRINGS HEALING TO PREGNANCY AND BIRTH

When I was expecting my second child, I undertook a deep study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy in preparation for the birth. This preparation was joyous indeed, and I loved learning more about the power of divine Spirit, or God, to create and maintain an infinitude of perfect ideas completely unencumbered by matter.

We'd planned on a home delivery with a midwife (which was permissible in our state without a doctor in attendance) and, as the months progressed, we encountered few problems and the ones that did present themselves were healed quickly through prayer.

At one point the midwife stated that the level of sugar in my blood was too high, and that if this was still the case by my next visit, I would need to undergo a series of tests and take corrective action to ensure the baby's health.
