FOR TEENS
FEAR-FREE FIDDLING
I'm part of a family band. It's my sister and me on lead fiddle, mandolin, and vocals; my dad on guitar; and my mom on backup fiddle and mandolin. We perform at small events, big galas, and fiddle contests, and we've even had the opportunity to perform in concert with Lyle Lovett and meet Oklahoma country artists Garth Brooks, Toby Keith, and Vince Gill.
One Saturday morning before an evening performance, I woke up with intense menstrual cramps. I didn't want to get out of bed because it hurt so bad, but I remembered that
I also had an acting class that morning.
