DON'T RESORT TO BLAME

Approaching the unexpected with poise and confidence in a positive outcome is a reflection of the divine Spirit guiding each of us.

WHEN THE 33 CHILEAN MINERS were rescued after 69 days being trapped underground, the world watched in awe and gratitude. What contributed to the successful rescue? Many agreed it was the government springing into action, coming up with immediate solutions, and not focusing time and energy on who or what was to blame. Chilean president Sebastian Pinera commented in an interview with ABC TV's Diane Sawyer: "I had an inner voice that told me, at all times, They are alive. We have a commitment with them. We have to search and look for them until we find them." And the lessons he learned about crisis management? "Don't waste a second. From the very first moment, we took full responsibility."
