PRAYER BRINGS PROOFS OF GOD'S CARE
It is with deep praise for God that I express gratitude for three healings that I had over the last several years.
The first experience occurred in the summer of 2006. I took a spill water skiing and landed hard on the side of my face. I immediately noticed that one of my ears was clogged, but thought it would eventually clear. When my ear remained clogged, I began to pray in earnest, affirming the fact that I could never be outside the order of divine Love and lose my God-given faculties. Science and Health assures us that these faculties cannot be lost (see p. 486).
Because my struggle to hear became apparent to friends, they encouraged me to see a doctor. At this time, about a month after the spill, I decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for additional prayer. I expressed my desire to be healed through prayer, and he assured me that I could rely on our great Physician, God. I recalled how God had healed me many times before, as a child as well as an adult. I continued to pray until I gained complete confidence that the Christ—the voice of Truth speaking to us continuously—was the only influence in my thoughts. I felt profoundly open to God's healing power, and humbly listened only for His thoughts of good. That same day, I noticed a gradual relief in my ear, until it had completely opened.
