What if peace broke out in 2010 ...?

Reports that world peace will come in 2010 have brought forth a burst of prayer around the globe. Nerved by the hope of peace, people have pushed aside the purveyors of doubt and insisted on daily prayer. "If peace is going to break out," said one man, "I'm going to do everything I can to support it."

This sweet dream of peace instead of war may not be as impossible as it would seem. No one expected the Berlin Wall to fall without a shot being fired. But it did—and this year people celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the fall with prayer, joy, and reflection. In that spirit, the Sentinel asked ten individuals from the United States and other countries to respond to this question: If you could pray for just one area of the world to have lasting peace in 2010, tell in 70 words or less which one would it be and how would you pray?
