THROUGH A SPIRITUAL LENS

POINSETTIA MORNING

I was just leaving for my morning walk in between rain showers, when I glanced down at the flowers in my front garden. For a moment, the sun broke through the clouds, and I noticed tiny rain drops glistening on the poinsettias. I dashed back into the house, grabbed my camera, and snapped several pictures. The contrast of the white and red petals appealed to me. Sunlight never fails to bring out the brightness and color in the objects it falls upon, and makes them shine. These poinsettias wore a morning smile, looking as if they wanted their picture taken.

The saying, "Less is more," suggests there's much to be said for simplicity. For me, at that moment, those flowers simply expressed God's great gift of beauty, balance, merriment, and harmony. They left me feeling wonderfully at peace—the way we like to be as we move toward the joys of another Christmas season. |css
