LETTERS

I am thoroughly enjoying the new column on the Christian Science Bible Lesson. Each one has brought me new insights into the weekly Lesson. But I have to specifically say something about the one by Judith Hardy Olson, "The Shepherd carries us through trials," for the Lesson titled "Probation After Death" in the April 21 Sentinel ["You're not guilty"]. When she discussed the temptations of Jesus and mentioned the devil tempting him to turn stones into bread, his words "You have two options—change matter or die" roused my consciousness to really see that those options are what is being presented to us daily through the advertisements of all kinds of drugs. I appreciate this new insight.

I want to offer my heartfelt thanks for Lois Rae Carlson's listening ear, as shown in her poem "After the call" in the April 28 issue ["A reason to hope"].
