LUMP IN FOOT HEALED

Early last year I found it uncomfortable to go barefoot. A lump had developed on the bottom of one of my feet which made it painful to walk on hard surfaces. It wasn't visible but appeared to be inside my foot. Although I prayed about the condition, I also accommodated it in several ways: by always wearing shoes or slippers, treading only on soft surfaces, and walking on the edge of my foot. This seemed to alleviate the discomfort so it was barely noticeable.

These adjustments were not terribly inconvenient in the wintertime as I usually keep my feet covered anyway. But once the weather started to warm up, I would normally have enjoyed being more carefree.

I prayed with Mrs. Eddy's statement that "a spiritual idea has not a single element of error ..." (Science and Health, p. 463). I affirmed that since I am a spiritual idea, and my foot is, too, there couldn't be any lump in my foot or any concept of a lump in my consciousness unless God Himself put it there. And from what I know of God as Love and Principle, He would have neither motive nor ability to cause me such harm.
