Song for a healer

Whether at dawn or midnight, no one more
graciously reminds me it is possible to turn
from suffering and fear to prayer. Your
variations on the theme of God's
consistent care bring calm and cheer.
And as you tend my faltering, explaining
how to know and trust our Father's love,
I feel that He is here and everywhere.

You see me as the child I am—God's own
beloved, who cannot stray. You gently offer
what it means to pray, "Instead of claiming
I've got this to do or be, I'll let the Lord reveal
the way He has prepared for me."

I thank all those who love the song
of Life so much they give their lives to
helping others learn to pray and heal.
