FREED FROM CHRONIC KIDNEY CONDITION

Some years ago I had a serious kidney inflammation. At the time, I didn't know about healing through Christian Science, and I sought medical treatment.

Although this alleviated the condition, I continued to have kidney problems that manifested themselves every time I ate any type of protein, especially red meats and deli cuts. Then I would have to take antibiotics that had been prescribed for the infection, or cystitis.

I suffered from these periodic crises for about a year. In the meantime, I became acquainted with Christian Science. While reading Science and Health, I began to let go of the concept I had of a God who was far away from me. I read a Bible passage that says, "In him we live, and move, and have our being" (Acts 17:28). From this I understood that I had a relationship of unity with the Father, which could not be interrupted by something like cystitis. I also learned that God is perfect—that He is infinite Love and Truth—and that I am His reflection. This made me see that the kidney condition had no real cause, because God's creation can only reflect His perfection. The infections became less frequent.
