EARLY MORNING BREEZE

Sweet breeze of God, blow in on me.

Blow away the cobweb concerns,
stale thoughts,
and accumulated dust of fancied wrongs,
the curtained indifference,
the joyless haze.

Open my eyes to see the angels in our midst,
to hear their rustling in the trees
and gentle stirring in our hearts.

To be aware of Your quiet, cleansing presence
in big and little things,
and never forget that You
who have done great things
will continue to stir hearts
like the wind in the trees
forever.

Remind me to rise early,
open the windows,
and savor the breeze.
