SOMEONE is praying for you
A boy got on the train my friend Anne was riding. He looked as though he must have been a young teenager and, according to her, appeared very agitated. When he sat down beside her, Anne just wished she could put her arms around him, to calm and comfort him.
Anne told me she felt at that moment such a conviction of God's love that she knew that His arms were already around the boy. He soon calmed down and looked more comfortable. When he peered over to see what she was reading—the weekly Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly—Anne offered one of several issues of the Sentinel she also had with her. He chose one he liked, and took it with him.
When Anne told me about this experience, we both saw it as evidence that the arms of Love are always open to comfort humanity. While it wouldn't have been appropriate for her to hug this young boy, whom she'd never met, the fact that Anne wanted to was a true prayer. It brought a healing moment to that boy's life.
