God has a purpose for you

For many people, finding a purpose for living can feel elusive. In a world of competitive business, high-tech education, and constantly changing work environments, feeling valued—even needed at all—can seem at best like a roller coaster ride, with great ups, but equally steep downs. And at worst, one's self-esteem can seem to be crushed beneath the weight of feeling left behind, or left out, by advancing years, unemployment, underemployment, divorce, or just plain loneliness.

The book of Genesis includes the story of Abraham, who, through following God's guidance became the father of the three major monotheistic religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. His story of obedience to God is an inspiring reminder of how important one individual can be in changing the world for good. And although his story is nearly 4,000 years old, its relevance is as compelling today as it was when it was first recorded.
