In His company
ONE OF LIFE'S SWEET IRONIES IS that the universal experience of loneliness can often be cured by being alone .... with God.
The New Testament of the Bible confirms that Jesus found it wise at times to separate himself from people in order to commune with God and reassure himself of his Father's presence, peace, and power. He said, "I am not alone, because the Father is with me" (John 16:32).
It's much the same with many of us. Periods of solitude often lead to the budding and blossoming of spiritual ideas that strengthen one's confidence, wholeness, dependence on God. One's vision becomes less confined, clearer. Such insights also help one avoid unplanned bouts of aloneness.
