God was at hand
Healing through prayer is such a natural part of my life that I sometimes find myself almost taking for granted significant healings. To bring about the many healings I've had over the years, I've always successfully relied on prayer-based treatment rather than medical treatment. Two recent ones stand out.
One night while getting ready for bed, I discovered a lump about half the size of my thumb in my groin area. It was very painful to the touch. At the same time, I'd become aware of an internal discomfort that was more of a deep, persistent ache than an acute pain. I don't know that the two were connected—only that I became aware of both simultaneously.
Of course, I was concerned. I believe someone who uses medical care would have been sufficiently concerned to go to a gynecologist for an examination. But after some initial fear, I did what I am accustomed to doing for my healthcare: I began to pray specifically for healing.
