ROAD MAP FOR HEALING
HEADLINES REPORTING ON "incurable" disease throughout the world challenge the very essence of the Science of Christianity. This Science says, in the spirit of the Bible (see Gen. 1:27), that because you and I are created in God's likeness, we always express wholeness and perfection. We are, in reality, forever disease-less. Acknowledging this divine fact has a powerful healing effect within the troubled human condition.
Actually, both healing and curability are mental concepts, though they look like solidly physical, material events—as solid as the chair you might be sitting on. Christian Science, the Science of mental healing, turns those concepts upside down and round about, so that we can all take a fresh look at them. It presents an entirely different view of ourselves from the common judgment of men and women as physical personalities. And that's significant change of basis. Should you and I concede that anyone is a physical entity, we could easily get mired in some really complex issues of disease and curability.
During years devoted to spiritual healing, I have found that there is a far more effective point of view that relates to mental and physical soundness. Lifting thought to your spiritual nature—as the expression of God—you see the issues of curability and incurability diminish. The terms health or curability need not—should not—lead anyone to jump to the consideration of physicality.
