I have been reading the Sentinel from cover to cover for more than 60 years, but Rosalie Dunbar's article, "Moral courage: The antidote to 'groupthink,' " in the August 23 issue ["Groupthink: Step out of the crowd and think for yourself"] is one of the finest I have ever read. I have studied it over and over—gaining new insights and referring to its many truths and its guidance.
We've needed those ideas to be shared for a long time. For years, I've watched people go along with the crowd so that everyone would like them and not single them out, voting or saying yes because they didn't want to offend anyone even when they knew something wasn't right, agreeing when they knew they should be disagreeing.
