A letter from Kenya

My name is Mary Wangechi, and I live in Kenya. I am 12 years old. My skin is brown. I have medium length hair, and I'm tall. My special talents are: I am clever in school. And I'm good at running.

I also know how to sing. Some of the songs I like to sing are hymns. The song by Mary Baker Eddy called "Feed My Sheep" is one of my favorites. It's No. 304 in the Christian Science Hymnal. I like hymns because they are songs about God and they help me know God better.

My family is small compared to the families of some of my friends, who have four or five brothers and sisters. I have only one sister. Her name is Catherine Wangui. She is seven years old. I like to play hide-and-seek with her and to joke around with her and her friends. Sometimes I have to watch my sister when my mother is away. I also teach Catherine to paint and color.
