Peter's Easter story

IF ONE OF JESUS' 12 disciples could be called a leader, it was Peter. When Jesus first found Peter at work fishing, he must have seen something good and strong in Peter, because he said, "Follow me" (Matt. 4:19). And Peter did.

Peter was there when Jesus healed a woman who had suffered from bleeding for 12 years. And he was there when Jesus raised a girl to life who had died. One time Jesus walked on the water, and Peter tried to do it, too. He started to sink, and Jesus saved him. Peter helped find the place for Jesus to have his last supper with the disciples before his crucifixion. And after the supper, Jesus washed Peter's feet to show him what it meant to take care of others.

Peter did some really important things. But not always. Peter made mistakes. His Easter story helps show that we can get past our mistakes, too, and do better.
