Symptoms of tendinitis healed
Having lived for the past eight years only four hours south of the Grand Canyon, I had long dreamed of hiking down to the canyon floor where the Colorado River has carved out a truly spectacular wonder of nature. The opportunity to realize my dream came in May of this year, when my sister invited me to join her family and two friends for a hiking trip to the bottom of the canyon's South Rim. For several weeks before the trip, we all trained rigorously in preparation for the steep six-mile descent to the bottom, and the equally challenging nine-mile ascent.
On the morning of our hike, I prayed to God for a confident feeling of His presence. I love to start each day this way, and I knew that this mental preparation would contribute to the success of the trip. I was looking forward to being immersed in the quiet beauty and serenity that nature offers, and the inner stillness and closeness to God that so often results.
