The Mary Baker Eddy Library for the Betterment of Humanity
In her true light . . .
A look at the newly published writings of Mary Baker Eddy
Frau Bertha Giinther-Peterson and her students presented a German Bible to Mary Baker Eddy as a symbol of their appreciation for the support she had given them. Frau Giinther-Peterson was one of the earliest native-German Christian Scientists. She helped establish First Church of Christ, Scientist, Hannover, Germany, and was a teacher and practitioner there for many years.
"December 25, 1899
To the Donors of The Holy Bible,
My beloved Disciples: Accept my tender thanks for your Christmas gift—the beautifully bound Book of books coming from far-off Germany. Time nor space can separate us as we read the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. In and through them we meet around the table of our Lord in sweet communion.
May our Father-Mother God comfort your hearts, cheer and recompense you at this Christmas season, and the dawning new century crown your lives with a rich harvest in His vineyard.
With love mother,
Mary Baker G. Eddy"
