A mother's prayer
One morning last month I felt impelled to pray for the mothers of the world. It came to me to do this as I watched other mothers on TV sending their young daughters and sons off to serve their country on foreign soil, and mothers in Maryland and Virginia hesitating to send their children to school because of sniper attacks there.
As I prayed, I remembered a time about five years ago when my prayers as a mother brought healing and comfort to our family.
We had recently moved to a large city after living for many years in small town, and I was feeling very lost. I wasn't good at reading maps, didn't know how to use the subway—I didn't even know how to call a taxi.
