WEST INDIAN CONRAD HUNTE ON LIFE BEYOND CRICKET
Conrad Hunte was one of the greatest batsmen to represent the West Indies. He played in 44 test matches and scored 3,245 runs, including eight centuries, with an impressive average of 45.06. But it wasn't only his prowess with the bat that gained him international fame. It was his genuine love for everyone he encountered on and off the field.
In a 1996 Sentinel interview, he shared some lessons he had learned during his life in sports:
• I think one of the world's greatest problems is the growth of materialism in people's minds.
