A permanent healing of constipation
When I was a child, I had frequent trouble with constipation. My mom and dad tried to help me by giving me various treatments, which brought temporary relief. But both the problem and its solutions were very uncomfortable, sometimes painful. Nothing healed me permanently.
When I was a teenager, I began to pray earnestly to know God. The religion I had known all of my life didn't satisfy that desire. Then I was introduced to Christian Science by my mom, who wanted to return to its teachings. I realized that this was what I had been searching for. I went to Sunday School for a year (until I graduated from it at age 20), and so began my big adventure of learning about God. And about who I was—God's reflection.
I learned to rely more on God, who is divine Mind, to govern my life in every aspect. Every time I thought of having trouble with bowel movements, I gave up such thoughts by reminding myself that Mind was governing all of its perfect ideas, and that that included me as His child. I could understand that this was a natural, normal function—a movement under the control and government of God.
