Shaun Pollock at bat
Peter and Inez Pollock have shared their faith with their four children, of whom their youngest, Shaun, is probably best known. He is captain of the South African cricket team and readily acknowledges the role God plays in his daily life and in his cricket career.
"It was the change that God brought into my parents' lives, and especially the love they started to show towards everyone, that made me want to have God in my life," he says. "And He's been in my life ever since—in every part of my life.
"Knowing God helps keep things in perspective, which is important to a cricketer who tends to face about 90 percent failure. Every time he goes to the crease, he wants to make a 100 [runs] or take five wickets; and most of the time he doesn't achieve that, so there's a lot of disappointment.
