Prayer at summer camp
At camp last summer, I wasn't feeling well. It was the day we were going to Big Surf, and I had really been looking forward to it. I was OK while we were at Big Surf, but when we got back, I felt just awful.
This was discouraging, so I went to a quiet place where I could lie down and rest. As I lay there, I remembered someone telling me that the only thing that could break through discouragement was feeling God's love. Since gratitude is an expression of love, I thought about everything I was grateful for.
Within minutes, all the hurting had stopped. I felt so good that I went and played an enthusiastic game of basketball and had a great time for the rest of camp.
Within minutes, all the hurting stopped.
