Successful weight loss
There's a healing that means a lot to me because it was the first problem I tackled through my own prayer for myself, without aid from either my parents or a practitioner.
For many years I had been overweight. Long considered chubby, I struggled with a negative self-image. I had hoped that this "baby fat" would drop off as I approached adolescence. But it didn't. In fact, I only got heavier, and many people suggested that this was a hereditary trait I would be stuck with for the rest of my life.
At this point, I began approaching this problem from a more spiritual viewpoint. Through prayer, I had recently been healed of sick headaches and the need to wear glasses. I knew that I needed a spiritual solution in this case, as well. I realized I wasn't simply trying to get rid of unwanted fat, but to see more clearly that I was spiritual, and to express Godlike qualities such as selfless love, joy, the spontaneity of Spirit, the intelligence and self-control of Mind. I began to see that my satisfaction came from the fact that God loved me as He made me, and that I could cherish this entirely beautiful identity right away. I didn't have to wait for something to happen first. My goal was not to lose weight, but to act from a spiritual basis.
