Instant freedom from pain

Recently I broke a tooth and had it repaired. I'd done this a couple of times in the past, so I didn't expect a problem.

At first there was none. But two weeks later, the tooth began to be painful. By bedtime the pain was increasing almost by the minute. I found myself confused and unable to think clearly. Then, as if I had tuned in to a powerful radio station, the words "think of the healings" seemed almost audible.

I didn't have to wonder what this meant. I knew that I needed to take a stand for the successful spiritual healings in my life, and to know that there was no reason for that not to continue.

The pain stopped immediately. The experience was particularly startling to me, since the pain had been demanding my attention so strongly that I'd been unable to focus my thoughts. The pain did not fade over a few minutes or even seconds; it stopped, as if it had been switched off.

The words "think of the healings" seemed almost audible.

for several months previous to this, I had been doing some extra study in Christian Science. I feel that this prayer was helpful, in much the same way that one climbs a ladder. The progress from each rung may not be obvious, even though the view is actually improving.

From time to time, a healing sets a marker on spiritual progress and makes continued prayer a bit easier. I'm encouraged to find new benchmarks that give assurance of the value of turning to God.
