Changed perception leads to healing
For many years I suffered from severe allergies. I took prescribed medications, but things got to the point where even what I took daily did not help. I was constantly at the doctor's office with infections, and finally my doctors told me that they could do nothing more to alleviate the symptoms.
After beginning the study of Christian Science and seeing the power of God, I decided that the allergies could be healed. Silently praying, I asked God to show me what I needed to do or to understand in order to be healed.
First, the realization came that it would be impossible to have ever been a sick mortal because God had created me in His likeness, and because I had never been separated from His loving care, even for a moment. Healing was as simple as changing my perception (not that this was all that easy!). I saw that I could choose to see myself correctly—choose to see myself as the spiritual reflection of God, and therefore as being perfect, whole, and upright. This was the spiritual fact of my being. I decided that all I was going to believe was this spiritual perception of Truth.
