Good from God
One night I woke up in terrible pain in the abdomen. I started praying about this. An idea from a hymn was very helpful (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 180): "Here we rest content: / Good from God is sent . . . ."
Because I wasn't "resting content," I continued praying, especially to understand that "good from God is sent." During that night I also called a Christian Science practitioner and asked her to pray with me. She shared some facts about God with me. After about an hour I fell asleep peacefully.
When I woke, the pain was gone. Because I was still struggling with a false, material sense related to the discomfort, I continued praying by considering the truth of the idea I'd found so helpful during the night, "Good from God is sent."
