Sam's lizard
Sam loves pets. He has a cat named Norman. He also has some interesting, colorful fish. Norman roams around everywhere, inside the house and outside the house. The fish live in a tank of water in Sam's room.
One day, Sam went to the pet store with his mom and dad. He saw lots of pets, but guess what he wanted the most? A lizard! The lizard was not very colorful but he was very interesting. Sam had saved his allowance, so he bought the lizard and carried him out of the pet store.
So, the lizard came home with Sam and his mom and dad. (And his two sisters, too.) Now Sam's fish had company. Not in the fish tank! The lizard had his own special cage. Sometimes Sam would take him out of the cage and play with him. He was a very skittish lizard, so Sam named him "Skitty." (One meaning of skittish is "lively or playful.")
